Bearing in mind the randomness of life, the internet and my visits to h2g2, it is fair to say this entry can be counted as part of the reasons I come here; to be surprised by the humanity of others. 
A delightful bit of writing that works whether it is entirely fiction or not.
A note to Trin (the editor): There is an open-ended parenthesis beginning in paragraph 4 - "(we never stay on the boardwalk at those grand..." If it ever closes I can't see it; I'll allow the possibility that it is there somewhere and that I am just so dazzled by the flickering fireflylight I am blinded to it.
Thank you both for lightness bordering on brilliance to illuminate my dark winter.
