My bro is a radio amateur and I remember from waaaaaay back that '73s' means goodbye and '88s' means

I did not know that.
I was watching "Buckaroo Bonzai" the DVD the other night and they pointed out that his personal symbol, the BB, was also a stylized 88, for piano keys. It's also the name of an auto engine, the Rocket 88, which has been featured in some songs.
I like the way those two 8s look together...

Yes, sadly. They were quite good fun but a bit too 'countrified' for me... into foxhunting and other bloodsports.
