I have written an entry on Michel de Montaigne, the 16th Century French Essayist.
I find him a fascinating author (as did people ranging from Shakespeare to Ralph Waldo Emerson, so I'm not alone)
I'd be interested in your comments.
Thanks,
Gavroche

Excellent entry (see my other comments in the entry's forum itself at http://www.h2g2.com/F38922?thread=71283)... I'm still not too sure about the Shakespeare and Galileo joke; if the reader isn't too up to speed on Renaissance science, then it might be a little obscure. I suppose, however, that if one is reading about Montaigne, then one has a relatively firm grasp of all things Renaissance anyway...

I like to believe that those who didn't know Galileo discovered that scientific fact will be able to grasp that it was Galileo from the joke--similarly, from the context of the joke, they could figure out Shakespeare's authorship has been called into question.
But I sometimes expect too much of my audience. I'll leave it up to the sub-editor. Of course, if this entry is approved, and the joke gets removed, someone reading this forum is bound to ask me to retell the joke. And I will.

Right you are.
Well, I guess we'll have to see what Anna and the Subs think, seeing as it's nearly my turn...
