I can see a problem with the first, but why not the second? I personally don't eat processed meat (I will on a very rare occasion eat game) but I would consider *vat meat*. First of all it doesn't consume my primary source of food, grain and soy. Second it is by all accounts humane since there is no brain to feel pain or suffering.
Why not?

I'm all about vat-grown meat. I think people are unnecessarily squeamish about the idea of eating something grown in a vat, which I don't understand. I would much rather eat a piece of meat that I know has never been part of an animal.
The article you posted talks about "well, maybe people should just eat less meat." Well, that ain't gonna happen. Since we can't make everybody a vegetarian, why not make the production of meat a cruelty-free process?
