William F. Buckley, political commentator and author, is a serious sailor, owning large yachts and sailing across oceans. One of his boats was named the "Panic", and unfortunately developed a leak in the marina which destroyed the electrical system. His sons (including Christopher Buckley, author of "Little Green Men", etc.) promptly renamed the boat the "Tipanic".
Star Trek's Worf on Klingon theology: "Our gods are dead. Ancient Klingon warriors slew them a million years ago. They were more trouble than they were worth."
