Braintree is a small market town in thr rural north of essex. It's increasingly good transport links are leading to the town being considered "up and coming" after a long period in the doldrums. Within easy reach are deloghtful Essex villages such as Castle Hedingham and Finchingfield, London Stanstead airport and the M11 and A12.
The Town Library is a triumph, being a much valued resource as well as a real departure from the architectural norm. The circular construction and domed roof allow the building to be more than the usual box, and it sits elegantly between the adjacent buildings.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
