A little more help - I can't think of any way to influence the colour of the h2g2 generated bits of your homepage - forum entries, journals, guide pages etc

we just started a new thread over in heaven. this one is not just a chat thread, but also so we can do a head count and have all the angels touch base. if you don't want to hang around and chat that's fine, but it sure would be great if you could stop by and leave your mark! http://www.h2g2.com/F38362?thread=57689 see you there! Hello Bruce...
I've been trying to find someway of putting an G.M.T clock on one the pages here to run a real time quizshow...
I tried one which was Java Applelet in nature so I can't put the files in the same directory.
Is there a anything like that on the gadgets drawing board as people seem utterly perplex when they go to work it out...
So do you have any suggestions ?
Thanks
M.K*

Bruce Posted Jul 29, 2000
As far a sI know there's nothing on the Gadget drawing board like that - you can add suggestions for Gadgets here http://www.h2g2.com/A299504
If you tell me the URL of the h2g2 page where you have the clock I'll have a look & see what I can work out.

St.Peter - Thanks Bruce...
I think that Matthew bloke has put it on the backburner for now...
Apparently, he has enough on his plate presently with the Survivor thing. Although, you would have to speak to him about it for more info...

St.Peter - Hello Bruce...
I feel comfortable using HTML and I was looking to add enough string to my bow...
I was wondering which you consider the more useful XML or JAVA ???
Thanks...

Brucie, buddy!!!
I was just wondering if there was a way to have links to other parts of a page in GuideML like you can in HTML.
eg:
Title
...
link

There isn't currently a way to do it in GuideML but you can use the HTML
Title
...
link
in a GuideML page

At h2g2 - since the Towers announced the future curtailing of javascript & the current disabling on java applets I'd have to say GuideML/XML... ay h2g2.
For general fun, larks a-lordy & general mayhem on the web java would have to be my favourite

I didn't think there was something like it, but thought I might as well check. However, I should be able to use shouldn't I?

I wouldn't recommend the LINK HREF="#blah" version - h2g2 are currently doing some develpment on the LINK tags & the results could be unpredictable - I'd stick to the A HREF="#blah" - that's what h2g2 staff use for their anchors
