The 90's brought us so many bad fads, Growing up in this decade I can remember some, but i'd quite like to know how many i've forgotten.
Pokemon, Yo-yo's (or was that 2000?), pogs, and WWE (formerly WWF), spice girls.
I can remeber the latter ones better. Think of some more.

Ahh do you remember the Japanese electronic pet, the Tamagotchi? I wonder if any of them are still 'alive'?
I thought the Spice Girls were more than a fad though! Loved them and would still happily listen to them!

Yo-yos were kinda popular in '98, I do remember. I thought Maxim summed it up best - "Delightfully simple toy. Delights simpletons."

yo-yos tend to come and go. Where I lived(brussels at the time)they were popular somewhere at the beginning of the 90's. Think 93, but not sure there. And then later again(98 someone mentioned, but I was to old to apreciate them so not sure there).
Pokemon wasn't that bad, at least if you compare it to the Teletubbies. I once was babysitting this little girl for a whole day and watched them for most of it. More than enough to drive any sane person mad. Good think I'm more than a little crazy already

Pogs were brilliant. Anything that used cardboard to trigger a fight in the playground can't be bad.

There were also jarringly irritating Furbys. There are few things funnier than a Furby taught bad language. A classmate would bring theirs on the bus and the little animatronic vermin would let lose a pottymouthed dialogue that was absolutely hilarious.

Furbies can be a riot the last encounter I had with one was at a party, me and a mate were chucking it against a wall or something and laffin our asses off at it's twee little noises. Very childish, but you have to love it
