This should hopefully be it for my entry. I've been making changes and added more over the time, due to the amount of feedback I get on the messageboard. Let me know if there anything else I need to do.

Well, I think there is still a lot of work to be done on this Entry, with respecxt to both style and content.

Style: The first para doesn't need to be emboldened, neither does s'thing else further down.

Somewhere down the Entry you said something like (paraphrase) "plus a few others that I can't remember". You can't use 'first person in Guide Entries)

Content. There are still areas that need a lot of fleshing out. I think you can say more about Hereward the Wake and Robert Manning's influence on (whatever it was)

w.r.t the War Memorial - are there any particularly famous/well-connected people on there whom we should be told more about.

w.r.t. Shops and shopping: Shops are somewhat ephemeral, so do provide a list of outlets is somewhat pointless. Much better to try and give us a flavour of the type of shopping that's available.

A bit more info. on the background to Dr Beechings cuts and the effect on the neighbourhood.

Ah, I knew there was s'thing else bugging me about 'style'. The para entitled 'More Info' (incidentally, don't use abbreviations) should be put at the end, not right at the begiining; otherwise it negates the need for you to write your Entry at all.

.... also you should put the para about 'Rail Travel' into the section headed 'Transport'.

The section about 'Robert Manning' should go into the section headed 'Robert Manning Technology College'.##w.r.t. The Meadows: Is there any more you can say about these; e.g. Are they a conservation area/protected area/SSSI or have any other ecological interest? How are they used recreationally?

You also seem to have omitted quite a lot of interesting info mentioned by Big_JR in Post 7 of the original PR thread smiley - smiley

Ref RMTC: What kind of institution is this? I first assumed that it is a College of F.E./ tertiary college, but on further reading I have interpreted that it is a school with a 6th form. Hence, more info is needed here.

Personally, I would put quite a bit more info on Hereward the Wake into this Entry, as there isn't a G.E. on him. You don't actually say what his connection with Bourne is e.g. was he bourne (sic) there. You say that he 'may have died in....' but my encyclopaedia says, 'his death is shrouded in mystery'. So, some more info here may well be relevant.

You seem to be handling this well on your own, BigAl!

So is this still being worked on? There are plenty of suggestions here.

He hasn't posted since Jul 26, 2005.

In case he comes back:

Post your external link like this:

Bourne and it will turn into a clickable link. Same goes for www.delainebuses.com

You also need to remove the first-person references, as per the Writing-Guidelines

In the Places to Eat:
"plus a few others I can't remember the name of" - you really need to do some more research! smiley - smiley

Hi Dave

This entry is basically ok but needs fleshing out a bit with more details about the place. A1286921 might give you some useful pointers.

Having seen the guide to doing a h2g2 geographic entry, there could be a few more bits to do here and there, before it gets in the edited guide.

In that case, a move to Fleamarket? Potential for this to be finished off swiftly by someone.
