Morning, people.
That's an umm, *interesting* theory, Z. And one that I shall think about.
I've got a feeling that I've just started a chain of not-terribly-sensible actions. Married men that work away from home are dangerous creatures, and ought to be required by law to carry health warnings.

>put up with spending three days at a cold and damp campsite when poorly.<
Don't do that. Very bad idea. End up with aches that last for weeks if you do that.

That being said I *will* be wearing a costume that consists entirely of wool and leather so at least I'll be able to keep reasonably warm.

MMMmmmm. Been there. Done that. Had the heart-ache.
Just be really really filthy, darling, so that he always feels slightly uncomfortable around some otherwise inoccuous household object thereafter. Failing that boil his bunny or if all else fails, give him the clap.

Morning. I'm trying my best this week to keep out of the way of students who are here registering (new students, returning students, MSc students). At least when the main lot of lectures/tutorials start next week it won't feel so quiet in here, but by the end of the week we'll all be longing for the quiet solitude that summer brings

In other words something that absorbs all the moisture from the air, then keeps it? Like walking around wearing a sponge?
B- oddly enough, an innocent sounding remark in the pub last night led to a) A new colour for human skin to turn and b) spasms of laughter that were interesting to explain to the rest of the those present. Suffice to say, he'll never be able to walk past a chip-shop without pause for thought.

Hmm. Not convinced. I'd be on the industrial strength bug-killers if I was you.
In case anyone's curious, every previous reference this thread to 'a good friend of mine', from post 779 onwards, is the chap who should come with a health warning.

Trust me on this... I once got sprayed with IC acid (which was really water) and then had IC neutralising stuff (which was also water) poured on me, I was pretty dry within about 15 minutes and it wasn't even particularly warm that day.

Don't worry, I always take a well-stocked medical kit with me just in case.

Thanks all. Other than the whole "Work" thing it may be a good one.
I was awakened at 0630 this morning by my phone. It took me a second to realise that the person on the other line was a very good friend from back home who has recently moved to Japan. It was very good hearing her voice. Alas, the conversation was far too short.

Happy Birthday Marv! For your enjoyment I give you: one forcefield that stretches 7foot round you; one auto-replenish pen; a year's supply of blank CDs and printer cartridges; and one of those magnetic toy things with the rods and balls.
Is anyone here in Loughborough? Preferably a LIBRARIAN in Loughborough? No? Nobody will admit it? You see I've decided to do my geography coursework in Loughborough due to not wanting to pay £145 and go to a wet bit of Wales in November.

Happy Birthday, Marv *hands you a box of birthday s*
Either I've missed the usual student bus conversation or else it'll happen next week whe fresher's week's over:
*Fresher approaches bus with sign on it saying Owen's Park - Manchester - 50p*
Fresher: Do you go to the University?
Driver: Yes.
Fresher: How much is it?
Driver: 50p.
[Repeat conversation 10 times]
My second cousin lives in Loughborough. But she's not a librarian. And I've not seen her for years...
