Phil's around, didn't do too much on here last night - I was going to finish up my H2G2U2 - The H2G2 unix users page but talking to my mum about a load of recent family events put me out of the mood.
Marv, that sounds like a wonderful place. If I'm ever in SLC...

Be sure to keep a good stock of beer in your system before coming.. THat is all I can say. Our beer here is weak by *American* standards.

Phil Posted Jun 20, 2000
It's unlikely that I'll ever get there, but I'll keep that in mind.
Can you get decent beer if you go out of SLC, or is it a Utah wide thing?

It is a Utah wide thing. Read my article about drinking in utah some time... You can get a real beer but it is very expensive and you have to be in a private club. Can I tell you how much I like this state?

Ah yes I remember reading that article when it was on the front page.
Tis a shame on the state you live in Marv

Ah yes, well someone has to live here to report on it.

That is a fair description of Norther utah only. Southern Utah has the most beutiful vistas I have ever seen... I used to live in Moab which is a slice of heaven set down just for fourwheelers and mountain bikers.

Colonel, if you run for prez, what will your platform be??
Mornin everybody, just got up. *heads for kitchen* Anybody want OJ, tea or coffee? Ampton! Oh there you are. Run out for donuts please.
I'm afraid I can't make any political plans probably till next week; I've been rather abruptly scheduled for a CAT Scan on Thursday. My lung story isn't over yet. Really, I feel sort of glum about it.
Anyway, Redbeard has a very heavy RL schedule with the Shakespeare Festival and all, so I don't think he would be able to run, although he would probably find it fun.
Marv, your bookstore sounds tardis-like, really magical.

*Ampton clatters in with carton of donuts*
Thank you, Ampton.
*comes out of kitchen with breakfast-like refreshments*
Superdreamer, are you by any chance quoting from the Book of Mormon?

simulpost!
Of course I've read Zodiac, it's great stuff! I practically have that beautiful riff about the Boston traffic jam memorized!

I don't know what my platform would be... just make it up along the way. One thing I'm very certain of is that we're going to utilize a global resource better: France. We're going to round up all the annoying intolerant bigot types, and give them free trips to France... then conveniently lose their return reservations. Then we're going to do the same with middle management, annoying boy bands, and the entire Microsoft team. We'll get them all together in a country filled with their own types, and leave them to curse at each other in bad accents, then line the borders with tanks.
After that, we're going to stop the violence in the Middle East with a simple expedient... we're going to start driving electric cars. When the people of the Mid-east go broke, they'll have to figure out how to raise sheep in the desert, and will have too much to do to go on suicide bombings.
Zaire will be dealt with by exchanging their firearms for farm implements. After they fertilize the ground with their own blood, they'll accidentally cultivate a crop in the middle of their battles that can help feed Mogadishu.
Free medical care will be offered to every US citizen... Bill Gates gets the bill.
Will that do for a start, or am I thinking too small?

Colonel El Presidente. All very good. But do I have to drive an electric car? I can only ride a motorbike and I like the smell of petrol.
BTW, no Lil I'm not quoting Mormon. Any more Guesses?

Colonel: But what about h2g2?
Marv: Zodiac has a slight touch of Snowcrash improbability, but is more tightly written, and the technical foundation is flawless. Plus you'll like the very competent hero.

so we're busy enough to be simulposting regularly, huh
I don't mind electric cars if the electric car infrastructure is in place where I am. I'm all out of guesses, then on Moab's washpot.
Key: Complain about this post
