There seems to be several things going on at once. First there is the appalling idea of dumping a bunch of city dogs in the desert. Second is the attitude toward the IE people. But mainly there's the phenomenon of this kind of man.
I thought it might be an interesting game to list 10 men deserving of the Fideaux Award for Human Enlightenment. I named James Watt; Phil has named Prince Philip. Any other nominations?

Just so things don't get too sexist, I nominate Margaret Thatcher and Nancy Reagan

I'm guessing that Fideaux is a bad award to get? Hmm... how about Pinochet?

Hi Sporky! You need to check out Garegleblaster's journal entry for today, it will explain what we're talking about and entertain you too. Then come on back and see if you want to nominate Pinochet.
Does anybody know owt of Dr. Goof Lithium? I wish he had introduced himself rather than just shove a bookmark into the middle of the room. Is he saying he's here? Or is this a new passive-aggressive form of lurking?

I will go do that right now. Is it possible to start an Eth Conversation? It took me 8 minutes to load this page

Wow... I go off for a snooze, and find a backlog of nearly a novel.
And you're all talking about my journal entry! Amazing what happens when I actually have something to write in it. I've decided that that is what I'm going to use it for from now on... editorials on things that piss me off. I heard this guy on my commute home from work, and I had to write, or I would never get to sleep.
Anyway, I think it is highly unlikely that it was a prank, because I don't think the DJs can act that well. The whole conversation seemed pretty real to me. Incidentally, I called in to get the proper spelling of the dude's last name, and when I told them I was putting up an editorial on my website, they took down the URL... maybe they'll be talking about little old me and my little old journal entry tomorrow on the air...
Hmmm... maybe this Fideaux Awards thing deserves a homepage of its own...

http://www.h2g2.com/forumframe.cgi?forum=38024&thread=56107, OK Sporky?
You're right, of course, it's just that it hasn't even been a day.
And could somebody take that bookmark out? It will be obsolete, now.

She accidentally stuck a comma at the end of the URL... just click on the link for the Eth conversation in the left pane.
