A Conversation for LIL'S ATELIER

Some people have visitors -- I have salonistas! While I've been away, y'all have kept the place tidy and for once I wasn't ambushed by a mountain of slippery cards at the top of the stairs. Thank you, Chris!
Since I was unable to log on to h2g2 all day, I spent the time setting up a web version of the illustrated journal I kept. It's not quite done yet (I'll tell you when I put up a URL at ezboard). But while I was gone -- 5 days -- I went without radio, tv or internet. As with Gw7en, it was a news blackout.
*Matina puts a cup of tea in Lil's hand and points toward a sofa*
What? Oh, allright, I'll just get on with it. *ahem*
Welcome to Conversation number 33 hex. I sure am glad to see all of you again, and forgive my lingering jet lag, please. An early night will do wonders, I'm sure.
*sits down, stretches legs out and sighs*

i almost ran facefirst into a rather unpleasant person i'd rather not see today... my heart leaped into my throat, quite literally...
and i think i failed yet another government test today... i just can't seem to keep my mind on that subject long enough to understand it! argh! well, if it keeps me out of college i'm just going to... i don't know what i'll do, but it'll be... something.... *shrug*
so all in all, 'twas an interesting day...

Everyday seems like Hell to me at the moment, Marv.
*watches the poor defeated sea as she sits on the floor, tongue lolling from one corner of her mouth, can't help but laugh at that picture *

*makes a face at B-17, giggles, and forgets she's being defeated*
[sea] awww, poor B-17... just think, though, it could be worse. you could.... *racks feeble blonde brain* you could be stranded on a desert island only three feet in diameter with no clothes and absolutely NO SUNSCREEN... now THAT would be bad.
*shudders just thinking about it*

Yeah, but you could dig a hole and cover yourself in sand, hoping that the crabs don't use your nose to hide in, and hoping something interesting will happen, or that you might get resued, or...nah, your right

Hello? Anyone here? Oh. Wrong time of day, I suppose.
*spies calling cards* Ah! Novel.
*pulls out a card shaped like a fish, and writes a message on the back*

"Hello I'm Wild Salmon and Babel-17 said I should just come along and introduce myself. I have read some of your conversations before and found them and your visitors interesting, and wondered if I may join in. If it is alright, may I presume to join you all at a more convenient time? Sincerely, >WS>"

Wild Salmon, welcome to the Atelier. If you require any refreshments just ask the maid, Matina, to get it for you.
Lil, the proprieter of the Atelier, should be along later. A delicate flower, she is resting at the moment.

Thanks for the greeting Loonytunes.
Where in the world do you hail from? I think I read it somewhere before but forgot.

I'm feeling very scandanavian this evening. Know any good scandanavian recipes, Matina?

Wild Salmon, I live in clean, green New Zealand. We welcome cool, blonde Scandinavian visitors.
Sporky, Norwegian herrings on toast are tasty.

I'm not a fan of any fish, other than Tuna.
Herring on toast... in the cream sauce or pickled?

Greetings WS, welcome to the Atelier.
Modays are hell because Marv got stuck being the only person on shift for a worldwide support queue while working the highest priority case there is, a network down situation with the admin on the other side screaming to get back up. I love it when I type two lines and it fixes a situation. On a good note I had a customer request my boss's email addy to give high praise. That will help when I demand a paid day off for yesterdays debacle. I also found airfare for my upcoming weekend in Montana for only $150. That will help ease my mind come the second week of June...

Amy the Ant - High Manzanilla of the Church of the Stuffed Olive Posted May 15, 2001
I'm not exactly back from The Towers but I have moved on... to Germany. I'm here, with the real Amy, until the end of the week. I'm giving a talk about my research at the Institute of Psychology, University of Freiburg, tomorrow afternoon. I am hoping that the real Amy is in a good mood and that her eyes don't fall off again becase it is just sooooo embarrassing.
The trip to The Towers was fun. It was wonderful to meet everyone. The news about DNA had not come through at the time. Perhaps he died later on in the day? The time difference between London and California is quite considerable.
The weather here was good on Sunday but broke yesterday (thunderstorms). Wish you were here.
Love, Amy
