A Conversation for H2G2 Guardian Angels...
A Suggestion for God
Archangel Zax Started conversation Apr 23, 2000
Hey there m'Lord! I've got a suggestion for how to organize the Angels a little...
as i understand it, there are 3 basic goals here:
1 to greet Newbies.
2 to probide mentoring and friendly assistance to those that need us.
3 to keep track of newbies, and do what we can to keep them from slipping thru the cracks...
Here's my suggestion: assign groups of newbies to each angel.
this is how:
I have started with researchers 117725 thru 117750.
1)I pulled up each page on my browser, and those that had entries, i welcomed immediately. thereafter i can keep in contact with them from the thread link on my forum posting page.
2)those with no entry, but who had selected a screenname, i bookmarked their page including their nickname, and user # in the title. this way, i can personalize them, and note if they have made or are making progress. this makes it simple to their pages, and welcome them conveniently.
3)those with no progress whatsoever are bookmarked by what's available- their user #.
Each night, i welcome those new users online, then quickly go thru my little folder of bookmarks. as people build their pages and i welcome them, i delete their bookmark and keep up from my page. i had 20 bookmarked yesterday. i'm down to 7 tonight. i'm ready for another lot of users...
also, those chronically unused #s can get listed somwhere (sorta like the battersea home)
I recommend giving each researcher 2 packets to start. 50 older 3s, and 50 newer ones.... that way no one person is always getting the old people... you know?
so here's a breakdown of groups:
117700-117750 ...(Zax)... 117951-118000 my bunch.
117751-117800 ...... 118001-118050
117851-117900 ...... 118051-118100
117901-117950 ...... 118101-118150
118151-118200 ...... 118201-118250
we don't have to start so far back, it's just a suggestion. the new users coming on now are 119100s! we'd have a long way to go!
this way, the more saints we have, the smaller the packets can be.. you know?
one way or another, PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK.
If you are a Saint, and think this is a good plan, just go ahead and leave a message saying which group of #s you want... if you don't think it's a good idea, or don't think you can keep up on it, then just say you don't wanna.. you don't have to!
what do YOU think, m'Lord?
St. Zax

It's a great idea. Hopefully, anybody wanting to do it will no doubt gain a lot from the experience. However; I had originally designed the group to be a little less regimented than this. I had hoped it might complement the ACES work, rather than replicating it.
I had the idea that anybody wanting to help, but couldn't really give a specified amount of commitment a week, could come here and do their bit.
Despite my leanings towards patriarchal systems in the past. I had hoped to post a thread last week so that people could discuss the basic fundamentals to strive for, or any queries they had about our operations.
So, let’s nail down some of the issues you want to discuss....
- THE chairman of the board(...although, striving for purely 'equalitarian' comprise)

I kinda thought you were leaning that way, but thought it might be helpful to get the ball rolling... for you, you know... yeah.. just thought if i put something really solid out, they might have a strong response- positive or negative, at least it would be something... yeah? i dunno.... (?)

* Looks on attentively... *
I realised on Friday (just before leaving) that a link with a photo was on the homepage. So I didn't think it would be much of a problem. I am still busy trying to sort out other things at the moment, and had hoped for a little more time to get everything together.
I did manage to put something in the Newcomer's page, perhaps someone can compose something for the this weeks link...

Or rather, a question: Whatever happened to the angel's Resources page? Granted, I'm a new angel (minutes old, really) but the faithful page I knew and loved has been deleted...no more pop up windows for all the angels...sniff...sniff...
Is there a new version smoewhere, or has it ben dead and buried?

No, unfortunately Zax who used to look after the page is no longer on-line...
But, we have the Archangel's Page, which you will be able to access soon...
Which will have a copy for you to use...

it's a work in progress, so if you have specific questions, you may want to try contacting God or an Archangel.
