Computer Studies. Anybody? *sniff* ANYBODY?
Dear old CESIL you out there? Loading BASIC onto a tape based system or the 'new one' with a 5.25" floppy and CP/M a dim memory? Dare you show your 'punched cards'? Did you want to puch the teacher more than any paper tape for ONLY being a maths teacher, 'he' was *ahead* of the class by one chapter in the ICL books, not thinking we would read passed the asigned chapters as we waited our turn to send the RM380Z ablaze with our mastery of BASIC.
Now, apparently, they teach "applications." Still, probably the kids are so bloody thick, zero maths skills so setting a value to a variable more maths than they can cope with. That and the idea of using anything without pictures plus M$ having written it would out smart them anyway.
