My, you all did rather well on round one didn't you. Hopefully round two is more difficult. Oh, and don't post your answers here!

And now I prepare to get my ass kicked in round 2. I don't suppose we could make later rounds a bit less Anglicentric, now could we?

Munchkin Posted Apr 6, 2000
I am trying to make things as international as possible. Round two seems to be good in that respect to me. If you're not careful I'll do an entire round on Saudi Arabia at some point.

I hope to dispel the myth that all US citizens are horrid in geography by acing Quiz 2. Okay...so I know I won't ace it, but at least do as well as most everyone else
And Munchkin, if I might add a little wish here...I wish you hate math and math type questions.

There's nothing wrong with maths, or maths type questions in my opinion.
Phil who had to do lots of maths as part of an electronics degree

Fine, I know a thing or two of Saudi Arabia. Certainly much more than I do on many of these questions. Good grief!
And, yes I would like some, oh say, camembert with that wine (whine).

I can see that you made an attempt, but still... three questions on geography directly relate to the British Isles, and even the token African question is asked from a UK slant. Not a very good percentage, especially considering how little of geography the UK actually occupies.

What!!! I missed round one! How did that happen? I've only been gone a few days. I'll have to shift my arse to catch up now.

Munchkin Posted Apr 7, 2000
OK so the African one is a bit anglocentric. Incidently, there are only two, directly UK related ones, one of which is there as a bit of fun, guess the answer type. I have been looking up quiz sites on the web, to try and broaden my scope, but I can only find UK sites that give both questions and answers. I will try harder though.

I'm going to reinforce the stereotype that Americans aren't good at geography. The only one I got right was the one about what lake a certain american city was situated on.

The Ghost Of TV's Frink Posted Apr 9, 2000
I'll reinforce that reinforcement. Of course, you had better know the lake by the city you were born in.......

Irving Washington - Gone Writing Posted Apr 9, 2000
There is no lake by the city I was born in

There was a River by the town I was born in...
But I forget.

Do not post your answers here!!!!
I thought that round was hard But a heck of a lot of people are doing well, they even know where Moscow is! Well just you wait for the next one
No, it's not about fish! Some people.

Well, a less threatening response than I expected. I could have given you Looney Tunes uber hard Beatles round instead, but then he wouldn't get to play. Incidently, the answers are reasonably international and round four is specifically designed to have no British answers at all. I hope that keeps you overseas lot happy. Got ot go, I am actually working
