You can call me TC Posted Sep 20, 2001
Well, that would be nice. We don't have to go to the cinema - we could wait until something better comes on for that.
We could go to the Irish pub - do either of you know where it is / they are? I haven't been yet.

There are three. One around the corner of the shauburg, one in the "alte schlachthof" near mann mobilia (That´s the best) and then there´s one near the marktplatz, and then I think there´s another one i´ve forgotten.
Good Idea! Would anyone drive me home afterwards?
I´ll call you on the phone...

I could drive you to my home - but not to yours - it's in the other direction!!!

On the other hand, E., - if there's no snow, it shouldn't be that bad. As I said, I had a colleague who came to Ger every day from Bad H.

I don´t know the word Bübbi. There is the term "Bubi" (and in some regions pronounced Bubbi) for small boys. And "Milchbubi" But no connection to breasts and milkfeeding of little boys...

May be an ad-hoc h2g2meeting in KA tomorrow. Don´t know yet...

Thank you - exactly my opinion, too. Have never been to an Irish Pub in KA before, look forward to that. They do hold pub quizzes during the week I've heard - I always wanted to have a go at that too!

How exciting. E just rang me while I was online. We are not meeting in Karlsruhe tonight, but maybe another time. So watch this space!

TC, The Pub Quiz in "Tracy´s Irish Pub" is Wednsday night, and there is one on Mondays in the towncentre. The one at Tracys is good, if the boss himself does it. How about meeting there Wednesday week?

That would be 3 October ?!?!?

Researcher 168814 Posted Sep 22, 2001
OH, bother, is that the third? I didn´t look into my calender. I´m gone on the third of Okt... The 10th would be possible, though...

Just for all those who don't want to know:
O'zapft is!
(Note to Mod: this is what the Lord Mayor of Munich proudly announces to the public when the first keg of Oktoberfest beer has been opened. 'It's open!')
O-fest is going to be rather silent this year. Police are patrolling everywhere. Nobody apart from the US president knows if it will at all last for the usual two weeks. There was much discussion about whether at all to celebrate it, but one of the main arguments was that the city of Cincinnatty (among others in the US) will have their local O-fest too.

If we´d stop every feast, just because of people dying needlessly, we´d not be doing anything else but mourning... Think of it, 24000 people starve daily. And they said that avrage life expectancy in Afghanistan is 42 years. Every fourth child doesn´t get to be older than five.
I sometimes don´t know how we can go on as we do...
