I think Heidelberg would be fine for me too.

english?

Oh yes, Heidelberg is full of cinemas showing all sorts of weird and wonderful films in various original languages.

It's running in English in Basel from tomorrow.
(Which doesn't mean that we won't come to Heidelberg if we can)

I haven't heard of ANYONE in that "German Department" - except B'Elana and SchrEck

And I've decided to have the new researchers their say - it has been very lively in there recently, hard to keep up with.

If it makes you feel any better I know who YOU are TC
The German Dept isn't necessarily about any sort of (un)official *German People* thing, it's more about any Germans who fancy teaching other people. Which is why, perhaps, you don't know them
I want to come to this film meet...only I can't, what with being in Birmingham and all

Hi!
I don't think that I can come anyhow, but want to know what you decide... just in case. I hope you don't mind

B'Elana - I'm sorry I won't be able to come to the London meet and see you - the choir I've been practising madly with since January is performing on 17 July.
Hi to everyone new! Maybe we ought to start sweeping this place up and turning it back into the beautiful pub it used to be - maybe without the piranas (or whatever they were)
although we now have real fish to put in there:

OK so where are all you new people located? I've posted the info on the local cinema showings on the Yahoo thread. I'll repeat them here. We had agreed on Heidelberg, but Heidelberg doesn't have a cinema showing it in English at the moment.
The best I can do is English with subtitles (which are usually badly translated and make you cringe)
Never mind - the film is now here and we want to see it as soon as possible.
The programme from today (Thurs 9 June) to next Wedenesday:
We can see it in e.g. Bruchsal, Mannheim, Ludwigshafen, Karlsruhe - or Heidelberg in German.
Or with subtitles, but original sound track
Karlsruhe (Schauburg)
daily 15.30 - 20:00-22:30
Monday no showing 15:30 h
13:00 on Saturday and Sunday
Mannheim - Cinemaxx
daily 17.30 + 20.15.
Thursday to Tuesday also at 23:00 h,
Saturday and Sunday also at 14:45 h
Sunday lunch followed by the film in either place is my suggestion. I'm talking about THIS SUNDAY!!!
Anyone coming?
Don't forget towels and 3D glasses

Good morning TC. Sorry you can't make it to London.
I'll not have the car this Sunday, so would have to know today where you'll meet, Mannheim sounds better than Karlsruhe to me, but I'd have to find out about trains going there on Sunday.
Do you need 3D glasses ? This would be a KO for me, cause I get a terrible headache when trying.

Frankfurt anybody ?

Frankfurt is hardly further for me than Karlsruhe. So now I have to decide whether to go there or to meet Ottox, Sunny and Floh in Karlsruhe. Oh dear, and AXR can't come at all? I shall look at the Karlsruhe alternative:
Would you be able to get to Karlsruhe tomorrow you three? What time could you arrive? I could come by car and pick you up at the station. The parking round the Schauburg isn't too bad, and Karlsruhe's pretty dead on a Sunday afternoon anyway.
I'll check hootoo and my e-mails this evening and if you would like to come, I'll e-mail you my mobile number so we can find each other.
Hootooers always find each other. I've never had trouble with that, neither in London nor in Freiburg nor in Bad Liebenzell. Well, once in London I spent about an hour and a half looking, but got there in the end!
There's a train from Basel SBB at 9:12, gets in to KA at 10:58. It's an ICE though which means it might be quite expensive. It stops in Freiburg at 9:57.
Or there's one from Basel SNCF at 9:17, gets in at 11:53. You have to change in Strasbourg at 10:43 and are travelling for 2 1/2 hours.
Please let me know.
If the film is really good, and, as most people say, you want to watch it again and again, I could go to Frankfurt the week after and meet B'Elana.

Hi TC, that would be great. I'll not make it to Karlsruhe tomorrow, but would love to meet you in Frankfurt next week if you'd make it. I hope they'll still show the movie next week, but they've finally advertised it on the radio, so I hope it'll still be on.

Next weekend is busier for me, but Frankfurt is really no distance and I could certainly try. Could you look out for showings around early afternoon on Sunday, as that is ideal for travelling - especially by public tranaport.

early afternoon ? Then we'd probably have to choose 14.30, next start would only be 17.00. Would Saturday be better ? I work till 13.00, but should be able to make the 14.30, and fetch you from the staion before.
