P.S.: My mother still says: "Ferien" (German for "holidays") instead of "Urlaub" (German for "holidays") - like if I were still at school. I tend to call those periods "frei" (German for "off" [?]).

I´m back from holiday for two weeks now I don´t want to be here ...
I`ve not yet been to D-dorf itself. I´ve been in that area, but only briefly...
We could do with a little update about the german researchers, couldn´t we?

What do you meen with update? Meet-up
Let me know, when you're around...
Hey, don't you and TC and some more of GMC live near Freiburg? I will stay in Freiburg from 18th to 20th of September. I am joining the annual DGO-conference, the "Oberflächentage 2002". I think that in the evenings (18th or 19th) I will be free...
What do you think about it...

I am in Freiburg on Sat., Sept. 14th... But "we´ve seen horses vomit..." as the saying goes... so why shouldn´t one of those evenings be possible? Floh is from the black forest down there, I´m still in the north of the black forest and TC is not far from here either... We´ll have to look into the issue!

Are you going to be on your way back north again on the 19th, or do you still have to stay a night in Freiburg? I think I could make it down there, but I guess I will be renovating this flat at the time... don´t know yet... otherwise I´d suggest doing it somewhere on the way up north, around here Just an idea...

You can call me TC Posted Aug 15, 2002
Tht sounds really great. Things do happen! As it's mid-week, somewhere in the middle (Baden-Baden?) would suit me better. That's somewhere I can get to for an evening. Unless I take the afternoon off and take the train to Freiburg.
I am willing to go along with this. We don't need to arrange anything - just meet up and find a pub we can spend the evening together at.
If Floh doesn't make it it will be a great pity because she lives soooo near. (I thnk - . St Märgen or Feuchtwangen)

I will stay in Freiburg until the 20th. As I am travelling by train, it wouldn't be a good idea for me to meet you on my way back north . I will already be in Freiburg on Wednesday evening, but I suppose there will be some small talk among the participants after the official inauguration of the conference. If Wednesday (18th) suits you better, I think I would easily be with you, because I am just a "guest" at the conference and not a "member" of the DGO.
Still, we need to agree on a place to meet. I don't know about public transport in your area nor am I pretty familiar with distances
Your suggestions, please

meet me up, scoty!

During the week I would prefer something more north also. Heilbronn - Freiburg is to long for an evening trip ...

meet me up, scoty!
Researcher 168814 Posted Aug 15, 2002
Well... I´ve made up my mind
TC, if you could be in Karlsruhe (no matter 18th or 19th) I could pick you up there and we´d go down to Freiburg via Motorway That should be no problem. I can put my dates as I like, so I´d be about...
As for Freiburg: I will be there on the 14th anyway... part of the day is concerned with pubbing anyway if I remember rightly, so I could do a survey and aks our Freiburg collegues for any good suggestions
*would love to have Hati come along *
