Back for good ... and the first cocktails are allready made
I read in the House Rules that entries in other languages may have to be removed ... well in my ears this doesn't sound like they are forbidden. So I hope we can come along with this, because I think the german language is the connecting point between a lot of us.
I will try to keep an eye on what happens here and that the Rules will be followed.
Welcome back, again

Doch was ist das... ?
Etwas... bewegt sich... ein Flaschenöffner ? Das Licht - die Musik !
Ja, THE LEFT EAR OF THE GODDESS hat sich zurückverwandelt !
Hallo zusammen, Leute, ich bin wieder da, wieder zurück in der Realität oder zumindest in dem, was ich dafür halte !
Wer feiert mit die Rückkehr ?

Hi AXR,
well methinks this rule is stupid - don't think DA would be very pleased to see how other languages are treated in here(
I do hope - this will not be removed as well, but I'm sure BBC knows the meaning of free will and the right to express ourself, no?
And: by the way - there was already a part of the history, where you could read 'Only for Germans'...sorry, but I do have this bad association...
So, Prost!

Right - I'm going to say this in English again because I am fed up with this lark and have pointed out often enough and in enough places that there are loads of people here who speak German (see GerManiaConnection), and why is German treated as if it always consisted entirely of swearing, sex and offensive political ravings, whereas English is accepted as being OK until proved otherwise.
What happens to the translations of postings in German?
a) are they posted in place of the original German?
b) are the posted below/beside the original?
c) are they just read through and once passed, discarded and the original German is left in.
Just imagine sitting round a table, having a beer together, but everyone is gagged.
I am still so irate about this matter that I haven't any ire left for pictures and URL's being restricted. And it does say in the house rules that foreign languages "may" be removed. But they're not keeping to their rules, they're removing them in all cases.

Das ist also ehrlich die letzte Gemeinheit - man kann nicht einmal Umlaute schreiben-
Well dammit - they've gone and taken away all umlauts.
And I had just edited an official entry on Wagner - including the G tterd mmerung - what have they done with that, pray?

The umlauts are still in on that Wagner entry.

Hi TC!
well I'll join you with a bourbon...
could be a bit difficult to talk, cause as I see, some of us are still trying to talk German( Well, I don't like those 'removed' sigh at all... *sigh*

Hi all!
And yes, a bourbon would fit well. I'm afraid the menu card has been hidden as well, until somebody has figured out whether 'buletten' is a swear word or something like that (no, it's not a female policeman, and a hamburger is slightly different) and 'Br tchen' are going to be replaced by bagels/rolls and such. Do we have to throw away all the food stocks now?

Wei bier doesn't taste the same if you spell it Weissbier.
I am going to write ALL my postings - to all threads - in both languages.
The alternative, dear Mr Moderator, is that I write very long postings in German and post them to all 120 people in the GerManiaConnection.

Well, perhaps I won't bother. It is rather tedious writing everything twice. I wish I knew the best answer to this predicament.

No thanks - I prefer my tea in English parts. After all my protests on behalf of the Germans, I do allow myself a modicum of patriotism!
I'll have a lovely slice of Linzertorte with lashings of cream and some coffee please.
AXR - would you like me to write a new description for the front page of the BBBB? Most of what was said already still applies, but I would be happy to add a bit or rewrite some. Although updating the GMC will keep me rather busy for the next week or so. Please let me know anything you want added or taken away there, everybody.
