Just doing a final edit on the entry for DC vs Marvel and thought I'd check if we had entries for Batman and Superman. This is looking splendid, so I'll be really pleased when this hits Peer Review!

PS Jimster, for the art on the Deckchair Entry and I think Daredevil is mentioned in the DC vs Marvel Entry, could link the pending Entry on him in there too

Good thinking - links added to both entries.
So, are you working your way through all the Superheroes, or are you going to draw the line somewhere before Howard the Duck and Mr Impossible?

Cheeky. No, I've got Madman, Grendel and Ghost in the pipes but I think that's it after them. Superman isn't my thing and there's a few other researchers who have mentioned interest in their own favourite heroes when the Spidey Entry went EG. Plus i'm back studying so it doesn't leave a lot of time for it.

Holy smoke Hoopy, it sure looks good...
It was a good thing not to mention the other Huntress after all methinks... That could have been rather confusing.
Plus that means a potential entry on the "Birds of Prey"...
Oh yeah, my PC is sorted _at last_ so I should haunt your Hoopy-cave on a regular basis now...
Talk soon...

PS: Once it's edited, the entry will be plugged in the h2g2 Essex Researchers Group as, after all, some scenes of "Batman Begins" were shot in Essex...
PPS: "Waves to Jim..."

Cheers loop Tried me bestest. I thnk some of the finer details are a bit offish, but I'm sure they'll get leapt on in PR...
Feel free to haunt the Hoopy-Cave, but if you knock over me giant Teacup I will not be a happy chappy

Oi!!! I'm a wolf, _not_ an elephant...
I'll have another look as soon as I've downloaded a few programs so that surfing can be a pleasure again [I find IE rather a pain compared to the browser I used before]...
I'll keep an eye on what's happening in PR... I'm sure a "What's in a [Super Hero] Name?" kind of article in The Post around the time the Entry hits the Front Page won't do any harm...

I cant believe it took me this long to see this entry...
Very good entry, overall. There are some typos..
You may wanna point out that Joe Chill killed the Wayne's in the comics, as opposed to Napier/Joker in the 89/90 (ish) movie.
When disucssing the batsuit, you may want to point out that the various 'forms' of batman usually accompany different suits. The Dark Knight is usually all black or gray with a black bat. The Detective tend to have the yellow oval with the black bat...all of them are canon to the character, but they are all still used in the different titles DC publishes. Some of the stories make the suit out to just be a suit, meaning the man inside is very tough and skilled, others make it out to be a technological wonder...again, both are accepted by the readers but it may be worth noting.
In the Batgirl description, "...Bruce Wayne new nothing..." should be 'knew'
In the description of Gotham city...I always figured Metropolis was more like NY and Gotham more like Chicago. Apparently, I'm not alone in that estimation as many scenes for the upcomming Batman Begins movie were filmed in the streets of Chicago.
I'm not all the way through this article, so more to come...

I've read some more, so more info...
When mentioning the various television depictions, there was an old black and white (dont know dates or actors names, sorry), there was also Batman in the Superfriends in the 80's as well as the current Justice League series on Catroon Network, and there's a current animated series on Kid's WB called 'The Batman'.
Something else that may be worth mentioning is the Batman 'Ego' book. The book hits that there are two distinct personalities at play in the Dark Knight. One of them being Bruce Wayne, millioaire playboy, entrepuer and philanthropist (I know I butchered the spellings). The other personality being Batman himself.
Through most of the 'Ego' story, the two personalities argue over who is being held back by the other one and finally agree that when it's time for Batman, Bruce will step aside and when it's time for Bruce, Batman will step aside.
It's worth a read if you've not done so already. I've only seen it as special book, not a trade paperback or single issue.
I'd say you have a good entry on 'ol Bats on youe hands here...

for all the ideas, have fiddled a bit more with the Entry so it takes into consideration the points you made (well most of them).

The Metropolis/Gotham/New York thing is intriguing. Officially, both Metropolis and Gotham are based on New York, and the concept is that Metropolis is New York by day, and Gotham is New York by night. The two cities are representations of all that is good and all that is bad about the Big Apple.
