Midnight ice,
I really enjoyed your entry on haikus. It sounded pretty acurate to me but I don't know. I love poetry! I love to read it and to write it. I think any one who hasn't read this article should. But then again.. that's just me.

Yes, i've had over 10 pieces published in books and magazines too. I love poetry!

I write my own stuff too. I'm not normally a haiku kind of person, I prefer free-form verse or even the rhyming ones. But I do occasionally write haikus, just for the hell of it. What kind of poems do you write?

lil_fred333 Posted Aug 10, 2004
Any kind!
Funny
sad
stupid
rhyming
sirious
goofy
short
long
...and anything else!
My favorite are limerics... because it doesn't matter it they're dumb. To bad the only thing I'm not very good at is limerics. Other wise life would be swell!

"There was a young girl with no hope,
She drank alcohol and she smoked dope.
She spent half her life stoned,
Living all alone,
In the end, she just couldn't cope."
I wrote that myself, a while ago - I don't always deal with the dark stuff though...

lil_fred333 Posted Aug 10, 2004
That's pretty good.
i knew this kid who always wrote about dark stuff. He was the happiest guy I ever met, always joking around, and so polite, but he always wrote the most depressed poems about suicide and death and slavery and torment and... yeah. We were a bit worried.

Maybe it was his "emotion outlet"? I know whenever I write poetry, especially if it's related to something that's bothering me, it always feels like I've got a load off my chest.
Dark poetry is probably the most expressive, I think, but like I said, I don't always write it that way.

Maybe.. it's just hard to imagine him... depressed and angrey. His hair was BRIGHT HAPPY PINK for Bob's sake!

Yeah, forget him for the moment. We can talk about other stuff.
What's your favourite poem (do you have one?)
I love "Daughter of Eve" by Christina Rossetti... spellbinding

My favorate poem, is a tie between, Era and Tattooed Tears. Both by Alex H. From the magazine Sparkplugs, one is in Issue 5 and the other is in issue 6. They're both really good.

Midnight Ice - the Daughter of a Cacophony of Chrysanthemums Posted Aug 16, 2004
I haven't read either of them... where can I find them?
haikus
lil_fred333 Posted Aug 20, 2004
Er... well it's a local magazine... but you can google search "Sparkplugs literary Magazine, and 'electric shock of young adult talent" I know they have a web sight.
if i find the exact link I'll post it.

I have no idea what a "doobry" is but then again i'm a sheltered little moron.
But anyway...
Hey Midnight! We're running a "Web storie thing" and we're waiting for you to add to it! So please go to may "Leave a message" Area and click on "Web storie" and WRITE something! Please.

You're not a Thingite, then. "Doobry" is Thingite-speak for "Saturday" (don't make me say it again, all Thingites consider the days of the week which end in "Day" to be very bad language, so we've made up our own.
Crazy, but I love it.
I've been to your page, but I can't find the "web story thing" anywhere.. can you help?
