A christening? Crickey. Something simple, nice and pretty, well known. A Bach prelude or something?

I'm afraid I find it annoying. It has it's moment,s but generally it's not my thing.
nor Classical, either, come to think of it- I'm a heathen- I don't really like Mozart!
Give me Renaissance any day!

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that music sounds better on vinyl?

*Frowns, puzzled.*
Dunno. Can't remember the last time I've heard a vinyl.
Can't remember the first time, come to think of it.

I hadn't been born when all music was made on vinyl... but most of my musical influences are not from 'modern' sources, and I do think that music on vinyl has a raw feeling to it- it just sounds more round and full. My dad has a fairly large collection of albums and singles on vinyl, and I have a few of the CD versions... the vinyl versions sound so much better.

It's the recording thing, isn't it? Digital recordings and things cut out some of the sound, sampling and whatnot. It is a better thing, in my opinion.

Yeah- digital recordings cut out the atmosphere. I'm not saying I don't like CD's etc... I have hundreds! I just think its nice, once in a while, to get out some of my dad's vinyl- it just feels like there's more to it- more atmosphere.

Plus I guess it's what's associated with them- for me a vinyl was always special, as I had to get one of my parents to put them on for me when I was little. And I always chose what I liked.
