C Austin had his first start this season, and showed what we have been missing, great team performance, albeit against a hopeless Everton. for a change Forster move, Tadic scored. Austin had two. S Davis wrapped it up with his goal.Boufal showed promise J Ward-Prowse stayed on the whole match.

Billed as a must win game .Saints scored first ( C Austin). Then went into defensive mode, eventually Huddersfield equalised. Which meant we dropped down table leading on to the next game .

This game highlighted (if any highlight needed) the uselessness of the manager. The team had no defence (VvD not playing as rumoured to be off). No midfield, no attack (lone striker tried again, it doesn't work, never has worked, yet idiot manager plays it again and again)

We are now 3 points of relegation zone and play Man Utd next.

A very good goal from Hoedt set up Saints, an even better goal from Tadic finished off WBA, although Rondon for WA scored a really great goal. McCarthy Saints keeper made some really good saves. Saints progressed to the quarter finals, where they meet Wigan at Wigan, who beat Man City 1.0 19/02/18.

Next game in the league 24/02/18 V Stoke, a must win game again!

In my last post I made a mistake. 24/02/18 was Burnley v Saints.

Burnley took an early lead in this game, as the game went on Saints looked like they had surrendered. But lo and behold j Sims came on and ran his life out, nearly scoring to be denied by the burnley keeper. then shock horror Gabbanini came on , and through a combination of passes and the Ref getting in the way scored with seconds to spare. The surprise is Pellegrino played two up front albeit for about 10 minutes, but it worked. Saints pulled out of the relegation zone.

billed as Must win game. The first half was dreadful. In the second half Pellegrino played two up front, and but for Jack Butland Stoke keeper,it almost worked. The supporters have been calling for two up front almost the whole season. Pellegrino plays one up front. Result we have drawn 15 games and won 5. We are 17th in league and look like going down.

Next game another must win v Newcastle. bet we lose or draw.
