If 2legs can join from Cambridgeshire, I don't see any difficulties! smiley - biggrin

Anyway, It's more of a London & South-East style groupuscule - seeing as there's a Scottish one and a Northern one already (is there Welsh? Probably smiley - sheepsmiley - blacksheep). The more the merrier! smiley - tongueoutsmiley - drunk Quide *liderally*, mate!

I quite like the idea of going to Kaz's photo exhibition first. There we can drink hot, infused vegetable products. smiley - teasmiley - coffeesmiley - cappuccino Afterwards, we can repair to a hostelry that can provide us with cold, fermented vegetable products smiley - alesmiley - cidersmiley - redwinesmiley - bubblysmiley - stoutsmiley - stiffdrink.

Actually, Mazin' you raise a good point...

At what time should we schedule these events? Much as I'm sure that Kaz's photo exhibition will be intriguing/brilliant/mystifying/exciting (delete as appropriate), how long will it hold our attention for? Similarly, the establishment may not be *too* keen on us hanging out there for a long period of time - more than an hour or so.

I guess that Books Etc. closes at 6:00pm on a Saturday, so I'd say it would be a good idea to time our arrival for, say, 4:30 or 5:00pm? We could then seamlesslessly transport ourselves to another location for the consumption of aforementioned vegetable products (fermented).

Kaz

Wow, you want to come to my photo exhibition? Really?!

Just to warn you its photos of plants insects and crystals, maybe that isn't exciting for lots of people? Books etc would be very impressed to see that people are coming for my exhibition and it would stand me in good stead for the 2nd, being planned now! They close at 7pm, the cafe closes at 6pm and are quite able to hold 10-20 people for an hour or so in the cafe bit.

They are advertising the launch weekend in their own inhouse magazine, so they are happy to work with me on this.

If you guys are serious about this, then I can give an approximate time to the manager and that way they won't be bothered.

Oh my Goddess and all the nature divas, you are arranging a meet at my exhibition. I am so stunned and shocked, I've gone red!!smiley - loveblushsmiley - laughsmiley - magic

Sounds good to me. I went to see an exhibition of Paul Klee in Strasbourg a few months back - he was very much into similar things so I'd like to view your work in comparison.

Also, whilst this site, and particularly Ask, can sometimes degenerate into just a bit of a talking shop (but the best bl**dy talking shop on the planet! smiley - winkeye before anyone takes offence) it has been known for researchers to help and positively benefit each other, and I see this as a way that we, as a group of researchers, can help to further the career, ambition and exposure of one of our number in a positive way.

Now all we need is a funny handshake! smiley - biggrin
