Skittles are a sugary form of candy, or sweet. They come in various fruit flavours, and a rainbow of colours. That probably explains why their slogan is 'Taste the Rainbow'. They are manufactered by Mars candies, and can be purchased in most any grocery, or convience store in the U.S. Despite the fact that the artifical colouring runs off on your hand, they are quite tasty and there are on average 42 Skittles in a bag. Coincidence, perhaps not.

Ogden Dash claimed 'There is more to life than beer and skittles'. He seems to be implying that the masses have sworn some form of idolotry to these fruity confections. Despite the pleasure of consuming a handful of Skittles, there is no proof that they have lead to any greater understanding of the meaning of life.
