h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

One of my flatmates (Johnny the Red) got some episodes out on video a month or so ago and they ROCKED (as always) - having not seen it for roughly a decade I was amazed to still find it funny - i guess it's like mash, there was heaps of stuff you didn't get as a kid cos it played at two levels

so anyway the point is that it's available on video over here (NZ) - for anyone in Auckland, we got it from Videon (of course).

I've heard something about a DM vid being re-released later this year. I'm going to try and get more details.

Would Aus/NZ videos work on a British machine?

I got this message from the DM mailing list:

"Indeed, I was contacted by someone from Pearson TV a month or two back mentioning that there should be a UK release video later in the year."

Still, will Oz videos work in the UK?

both NZ and Australia work on PAL, so does the UK and large parts of Europe (I think) except France which has it's own system (SECAM from memory) - the US uses NTSC, which is different again - however you can get stuff changed over

i've never seen them for sale here, but have a look at www.flyingpig.co.nz, if anyone in nz has them they will (maybe)

They didn't. I am starting to have a knawing feeling...I may be trying too hard. Maybe there just aren't any DM videos in extistance any more .

I might try checking out car boot sales, if I knew when they were held *^_^*.
My last option is to go looking round Australia when I go there. Oh well, keep my options open .

i'm afraid the videon one was very very battered, probably quite old - i guess if the beeb can't tell you where to get them then you may just have to accept it and move on *sob*
