I'd get on to Cosgrove Hall ask them to make some new ones, but who'd do the voice for Penfold?

I am at a complete loss! I am totally pants at naming appropraite actors for pretty much -anything-. smiley - sadface

Do Cosgrove Hall still do anything? I's have thought they'd have folded, seeing as none of their stuff is aired any more smiley - sadface.

Last thing Cosgrovve did was 1994 so it looks unlikely they are still up and running. smiley - sadface

1994 - The Avenger Penguins!
I loved them! Shame they only ran for two series...

Hey Dinsdale, do you think you could get in touch with CH?

Cosgrove Hall made a cartoon versions of "Wyrd Sisters" and "Soul Music" (Discworld books by Terry Pratchett) in 1997, according to http://www.ie.lspace.org/

You're right that was them, that website is out of date. The also did Soul Music, I think that was 1998.

I remember Wyrd Sisters!!! That was brilliant!!!
Heh, no I sort of remember the CH logo at the end. Nevere made the connection back then *^_^*...
I saw a clip of Soul Music, looked cool. Don't remember it being shown in the UK though.

Trying to get back on topic, who do we think would make a decent replacement for Penfold's voice?

It'd have to be quite high, but I don't think a woman's voice would work - Terry Scott's voice was definitely male (even if you didn't know who it was). Neil Morrisey does quite a few voice overs in cartoons, and he's quite chirpy and does childish-type voices well.

Bernard Cribbins? Paul Merton?

Well I've even forgotten what Neil Morrisey would sound like when he's not going "ohhhh, riiight" in Men Behaving Badly.
I suppose Paul Merton would be alright (cos you suggested him), it really boils down to how well they can imitate Terry Scott's voice. It's no good having a completely different sounding-voice for Penfold, the magic wouldn't be there!

This is ruining TV for me at the moment, as I am reviewing all actors for the part of Penfold. Someone please come up with the right replacement so I can rest easy again.smiley - smiley

Post 11

Mike A (snowblind)

To be honest, I think Paul Merton is the only person I can think of who'd make a good Penfold. I think of him doing the line "oooh cheif it was awful! You see, we were flying over that castle...", imagining him doing it in a high voice (or even his normal voice).
It's ok, but it still isn't the same. Ultimatly, Penfold would never quite be Penfold...smiley - sadface

I suppose I could write another Obit for the page. No how about I write it here and someone else contribute it there. J-t-G is probably a little sick of my Bloefeld Obit's right now.

If you want, I'll give it to him. Or you could write on -on behalf- of the whole BBD movement.
I don't see why we should quibble. It is Penfold after all.
