The h2g2 Poem

After-Image
Your form is framed by the bright windowpane;
Silhouette and golden aura combine
(To show where God has traced a gentler line)
And linger on shapes closed eyelids may contain.
Yet shuttered lids your features still retain.
The image of your pleasant face near mine,
The contours of your breast and waist supine
In bold relief as if in daylight plain.
And while we're parted there remains a trace-
Remembrance of the essence that is you-
Regardless of the current time or place
And heedless of the situations new,
Recalling all your litheness and your grace,
And thankful that to me your heart is true.
