Sort of. I was usually that last out of the trolley, but was disqualified for passing the 'point of no return'. And got wet.

I know quite a lot of people who steel shopping baskets!
They use them for storage!
I think the idea of trolley games is fun!
Where I live people steel shopping trolleys all the time and just dump them!

I just wondered if you can get charged for steeling shopping trolleys!

Yes, I'm sure you can get charged for stealing trollies, but they have to catch you first!
So, what exactly do they do with all these baskets? Aren't they noticed at all? Always a question.

No
They just put them in their trolley!
no body says anything!

Well, I guess the inconspicuous way is the best. What happens to the baskets, though? I'd just assume that they'd do nothing but get in the way.

Well, if they're being dumped, I guess it's understandable if pointless to nick them. Yet I'd imagine that the baskets get in the way - you can't have as much fun with them as you can with trolleys, or can you?
Do you know any shopping basket games?

What you mean you've never tried using one as a sledge on a steep slope on a cold winters day, man you haven't lived yet. Also trolleys/carts are pretty easy to fing in England, just go to any waterways and you will find hundreds, Mostly put there by druck students and old folk on crack.

I am sorry that i have to say that I dont agree with steeeling baskets , carts 7 trollies!
They cost a lost of money.
They supermarkets cant afford to keep paying out for them.
Do you like it when you go shopping and there is no trolley!
Why do they spend lots of money on locks and grids to stop you nicking them.
They should all be cleaned out of ponds and from streets and taken back

I've never actually seen a supermarket that's run out of trolleys, and I must confess that I've never stolen one, either. I'm just saying that people do - but most of them end back at safeways or whereever in the end, so it's not that serious.
I still haven't seen a stolen basket, though...

I live about 2 blocks behind the local "K-Mart". I park my work truck there and walk home everyday, down a short wooded path between here and there.
I've been watching this one shopping cart/trolly for several weeks now. It has traveled from the parking lot, to a neighbors' house, back to the wooded path, over to the rear parking area of "K-Mart" and is now resting peacefully upon it's side on the edge of the pathway once more.
I expect it to die of rust and neglect in the near future, as no one seems to miss it very much!

Yes but is still not right that they should be stolen is it!

Why dont you push it back to k mart them!

I know and admit it is silly, but it still happens anyway - and although I've not stolen them, I don't know anyone who does so I cannot stop it.
I don't think it's that serious a problem in Southampton as I've only seen one abandoned trolley in two years. I expect it's worse elsewhere.

Could any of you tell me if there was a program on some years ago that went round the uk collecting bread baskets and trollies?
Thanks
