I take great offence at your attempt at using "Pop culture" to explain terrorist actions. Do you think this would endear such people to the general public?

Comparing terrorists to the Rebel Alliance of Star Wars is completely absurd.
Since when do we hear of the Rebel Alliance strapping thermal detonators to themselves and blowing up themselves and innocent bystanders?
When do we hear of any of the Rebels/Jedi committing pre-meditated suicide in order to become one with the Force, taking their innocent victims with them? - Ben Kenobi's self-sacrifice is not comparable as this was a spur of the moment decision in an otherwise impossible situation.

As far as I'm aware, the Rebel Alliance only attacked military installations. This is also not comparable to the IRA practice of bombing civilian pubs/clubs just because military personnel might happen to frequent them.

You fail to mention, of course, that the recent Muslim suicide bombers in London, like all such Muslim suicide bombers before them, regarded ALL Westerners as their enemy, in an indiscriminate fashion. Such an attitude could only barely be concealed even by the leader of the Muslim Council of Britain in a recent BBC documentary a few weeks ago.
