Apparently, I am at a loss as to how to associate an image with an article. I'm sure the "how to" info is out there. I need to "cypher on it."

If the photo is on your computer, you could go to Esnips.com and open an account. Create a folder for h2g2 photos, make sure it's set to public view, then link to the URL of the photo. Just don't delete it once you've set up the link or the entry will have a non functioning link.smiley - ok

Thank you very much. I'll see what I can do this next week. My favorite Hunnicutt appearence by the way was on an episode of the Twilight Zone called The Hunt

This has enormous potential, but I would suggest having a look at some of the other biographies here: C493

this gives you an idea of the way the Edited guide likes to have entries written, and I would like to see perhaps a conclusion and less of just a list of appearances smiley - smiley

Good suggestions. I believe I have made this a better piece and added a few links, including a picture link. Thanks you guys!

hey there benhenry007 smiley - smiley

Glad to see you came back and took the advice, the Entry is looking great and reads a lot better smiley - ok

it takes a lot to give Peer Review a go, and you've shone.

Be prepared for some nitpicking along the way too though! smiley - winkeye

And here's the first! You don't need to have your title AND the first header Arthur Hunnicutt smiley - smiley You can get rid of the header in the body of the text. smiley - smiley

Oh, another thing too, I don't know how well you know GuideML but I see you've linked to a picture smiley - magic

One way of doing this is to put it in as a Reference tag

Between the and tags at the bottom of your Entry put this;

And the link will come up in the sidebar smiley - smiley

It makes links to other places not so obvious, but still show up nicely smiley - smiley

Again, glad you came back, don't be a stranger smiley - smiley

I tried your image suggestion, but the whole page shows the GuideML tags when I do this. I alsi tried the standard <IMG SRC...code for HTML without success. I thought they didn't allow the picture posted directly? The link may have to do.

I found a few typos and I think I have this page fairly well ready, but we'll see what other reviews I get.

Thanks again for your help. Ben

No problem, I wouldn't worry too much about the GuideML anyways. It won't add the actual picture to the Entry, but just make a link in the sidebar to the site, rather than having the link stand out like the proverbial in the Entry itself smiley - smiley

Content wise I like what you have, but I'd really like some others to comment too. smiley - ok

Hi Ben smiley - smiley

Good subject - I enjoy obscure biographies on h2g2.

I'd change the title to Arthur Hunnicutt - Actor

If you really want the birth/death dates, I'd be inclined to move them to the text somewhere, or even to a footnote.

I didn't understand this. Which generations would have known him before and since? Maybe a footnote explaining Ma and Pa Kettle would help here.

I'd put these sentences in different paragraphs, as they don't follow on from one another (as far as I can tell). In fact, this final paragraph looks as if it's directly lifted from Wikipedia, so If I were you I'd rewrite it completely, as well as any other items you researched from there - in a couple of places it's too thinly disguised. Having said that, one thing Wiki mentions is that he was typecast as an older character, which wasn't clear from the outset in your article, and which I'd include.

You link to one or two of the movies on IMDB, but not all. Can I suggest you link to the IMDB Arthur Hunnicutt page in lieu of these?

Hope this helps!

smiley - cheers Icy

I made a few changes after receiving feedback, but I believe it is ready to go.

The only problem I have had is discovering exactly what year Hunnicutt was born (1910 0r 1911). I believe I have the correct date from a posting at a geneology website where critical data such as hie American Social Security number was presented along with other supporting data. I even called the city offices of the place where he was buried, but all they confirmed was the year. This data is not generally supported on teh web, but I think Wikipedia is to blame. The only way I will know for sure is to actually visit the gravesite as no one seems to know on the web or anywhere I can call here in Arkansas. smiley - smiley

h2g2 auto-messages

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
