This Project arose as a result (last year) of a discusion on a convo thread as to who was the most famous German scientist.

Germany has had a profound impact on our knowledge and understanding of chemistry and the application of the chemical sciences. For example, every student of chemistry will be aware of the contribution of Fritz Haber, and the impact of the Haber Process for production of ammonia on the agricultural sciences. However, that was 20th Century stuff.

This project aims describes the achievements of seven German Scientists, focussing on the 19th Century, as this was when there was rapid increase in our knowledge of organic chemistry.

I don't know whether, for a Uni Project, one just needs to post the Cover Page, or whether I need to post each Entry separately

Sorry Al, I can't do this justice, I haven't heard of half these people. I've read the only one I thought I knew something about, and found out I knew less than I thought. Primarily I thought he was English, though I did know he didn't actually invent the Bunsen burner.

Anyhoo, I'll have a wander through the rest and educate myself later.
