Should we italicise names of foreign dishes like gazpacho, paella, tortilla, and the like? The names are Spanish (in this instance) but anyone who's not a strictly meat-and-potatoes sort has probably encountered them. I'm stumped.

no, as presumably they're the names we'd use to describe the same dish. The only time you'd do that is if you were using a non-English name for a dish that has a commonly-used English translation, such as 'Yung Chow' (or some other phonetic alternative), which is usually translated as 'Special Fried Rice'.

Actually, I popped on for some research for something entirely separate to work and happened to see the posting. Knowing my memory, I thought it best top post now than risk letting it slip off my page by this morning.
