I've got a pretty extensive entry on the 2003 World Series at A1908425, which you can have if you'd like to incorporate it.

OK, thank you. I was wondering, why had you not submitted that to peer review before?

I think it may be a bit long for an entry about the whole of 2003. Do you mind if I summarise it and then link to the full report?

Well, you couldn't link to it if it gets in the EG, because it's unedited. And I'm not going to submit it to PR.

I am sure that you can link to unedited articles from edited ones. I have done that before.

Post 7

J

Trust me, you can't. It gets taken out in the editing process if you do smiley - smiley

But in my Quantum Computing entry (A1136350), there is a link to an entry about Parallel Universes which is definitely not edited.

Then the eds missed that in subbing. smiley - smiley

Oh. Then how should I use your entry in the year 2003 article?

Right... Well, I would recommend you submit it to Peer Review; it is very detailed and definitely complete. smiley - smiley If you don't want to, then I shall just use a summary of it for this article.

But really I need more people to contribute with writing other significant portions of 2003 - at the moment I haven't had a big response, which is odd. There was a conversation about hairnets that had more replies, if I remember rightly smiley - biggrin. Never mind! I'll right some of it myself when I have time.

You'll get a bigger response if you come up with some ideas for other people to write things. Like a list of major things in 2003.

I'd be helping more, but I honestly can't remember most of last year. Or last week for that matter smiley - erm

That's a brilliant idea! I shall get on to a list of major events of 2003 right away. (But not from memory, of course, I shall have to scour my magazines and the BBC news sites.)

Actually, I can't seem to find any general news of major events in 2003, either on the BBC or any other site for that matter. That's strange.

Well... you might just have to use your memory.

Let's see.

Sports - which team or individual won the major sports? Football smiley - football, Baseball, Football (american version), Basketball... etc.

As an American I remember (in no particular order)... The Iraq War, Strom Thurmond died (to me a major story anyway - he was an interesting guy), Saddam Hussein captured, California fires, California recall election... Space Shuttle Columbia, a lot of award shows, a lot of protests, SARS, Bush pushing for support on Iraq War, Liberia, Concord stops flight, Martha Stewart and Michael Jackson in trouble, Beagle 2 and that Katherine Hepburn, Rod Roddy (announcer for The Price is Right... sure that's significant!), John Ritter and Johnny Cash died.

That's about all I can think of.

Collaborator

Well, I have a more-or-less complete list now; plenty for everyone to compose a more-than-lengthy entry.

I don't suppose there's anything else you would care to contribute yourself?

I'll think about it. Probably do something if I have time today.
