A Conversation for Making Web Pages

Just a note - It takes a day to learn how to *make* web pages. And to make cakes. And to play hurling. But to make a good cake, or really *kill* people, you need to do a bit of work. The same is true of web design - while sites like http://www.collectivestudios.com/main.htm blow you away, and sites like my own http://www.crosswinds.net/~swfanfics make you think, sites like www.hotbot.com make you want to go out and die (or have a vigorous game of hurling....). It takes time to get it right, otherwise you end up with a flat cake, or (in extreme cases) somebody handing you your head. Or possibly a bad website (did I take the metaphor too far?)
