Everyone travels, so everyone should pay. Funding public transport by everyone means that everyone wins. Rail fares are cheaper, encouraging more people onto them, which leaves loads more lovely roads for us! yummy.
Actually, I'm in favour of road metering. But try telling the government that and offer to volunteer, and 4 months later you get an email back full of gooblydegook that you don't understand and seems to be directed at people who are against it..
