Yes it is lovely.
You can see it from a very long way off. Which may be a good idea, because if you are looking at it from very close when it is very cold for very long, it will kill you.

Ben Nevis is a great source of perspective.

Of course you can only see it from a long distance off when there is no cloud!

Which doesn't happen all that often. Of course the other way to tell if it is too cloudy for a trip to the top is to pop into a pub in Fort Bill and count the number of sullen looking climbers, the more there are , the worse the weather!

That is a workable solution.

The thing about Scotland and weather are the surprises.
Yes it can be rainy and grey but you also get the unexpected burst of sunshine through cloud.
The mix of solid mountain and lumpy cloud can look realy beutiful from below.
From a mountain top, when you have just climbed the thing, it can take what little breath you have left away.
