...Why is it that the odour of some foods is so indicative of the taste, while others tempt you into the most yucky foods?
Sardines. I love the smell of them, especially the ones in mustard sauce. I -cannot- eat them, and yes, I've tried. They just taste... BLETCH! (Yes, I know. Some people love them.) I've tried them several times over the years, but I still can't stand the flavour.
Perhaps it's the fact that I do like mustard, but they don't exactly smell like mustard, and that 'extra' part is what I like.. I've come to the conclusion that Sardines are just liars.

Oysters...
Never managed to actually gulp down more than half a dozen in my entire lifetime, despite numerous tries (and even then, I had to wash them down with a glass of dry white wine).
