*makes one final adjustment to the crossbow before looking up*
Oil it regularly and sharpen it using a whetstone every so often if you've used it.
If it gets covered in water or blood you need to clean it.
But for now
*takes the dagger and closes his eyes focusing internally*
*spins the dagger slowly between his fingers and it seems to reflect light where no light is shining on it*
*holds the dagger's hilt in his left hand and moves his right hand sharply down the blade*
*the blade is once again sharp and not rusty*
That should keep it sharp for a while.
*flips the dagger and grasps it by the blade and offers it to Isca hilt first*
If either of you ever want any sparing practice or anything let me know; so far I haven't found many people who want to do any duels here.

~~I might take you up on that sparring practise offer soon. I need Isca and Vlain and my other apprentices to get some basic weapons training~~
Thank you, Thoran.
Come, Isca, we've got work to do.
*leaves for the illusionist training room*

forgive my intrusion,
but what exactly is it?
Smithying Chambers

*looks up*
This? Its a repeater crossbow - I can fire five bolts without having to reload. Which should make it more efficient in a fight. It was an idea I had during training.

I am sure that it will be...
forgive me the arts of war never impressed me
Smithying Chambers
TBC Posted Jul 9, 2004
They never impress me for being something to make war with. But they can still be good craftmanship.
My mentor once told me a quote he had heard; "Use your weapon when you must until the day you like using it, then throw it away as hard as you can".
I don't fight because I like doing it; I learnt for my own defense and I then used the skills to protect others

a good quote... a good moral,
but if you dont know and trust your weapon how can you fight with it?
there are meny mages here who will say that they have some sort of bond with a sword...
truely preference of a weapon must not be the bad thing, but to shed blood with it perhaps
