A Conversation for The Jam - The Band

.....to me, The Jam were on of the best bands ever, particularly their early stuff.
....saw them years and years ago at the Winning Post pub near Twickenham...took some fuzzy photos on a 110 camera.
....Oasis rave about The Jam, but will never be half as good, the just don't have that genuine buzz, excitment that Jam did!

Exactly! For me Oasis have always been about rehasing the past - but The Jam seem like they were always about the present. Maybe drawing on the past musically, but ideologically always about The Moment.
I wish I'd seen them live, but they played their last gig on my 8th birthday...

I agree - in fact, I find that a lot of their stuff is still relevant to life in London today.
(eg 'In the city there's a thousand men in uniforms, and I hear they now have the right to kill a man')
Since Number Six isn't around any more, I've decided to finish off the work he's started - you can find the new version at A13167489 .
