In the new millenium when it comes to weed there are a multitude of personal effects. Weed transends above social and ecomomic policy, acceptance and law. I started smoking resin (or block) when i was 15, i never realy got anything from it due to smoking miniscule amounts but it was thrilling at the time. I moved on to weed as a leaf, and smoked it for the experience. It is only in the last 9 months that i have become a 'Pothead' and in doing so; started smoking because it HAS to be smoked. This could be seen as a bad thing, but it is an incorperation of weed and real life. The actual act of smoking weed is unnatural, to breath smoke, carciogens and carbon into the lungs is unnatural, but its effects are never the same. For example just the 3 days ago i drank booze and smoked weed and was sick in my kitchen sink. Then two day later i quickly smoked a blue (5 pounds worth) and felt NOTHING, nadda, nowt, zip. It is an ambiguous herb, priced more than gold and has to be treated with respect.
However, it is not easy being a Pot Head, a stigmata has arisen around it that makes any stoner seem like a deadbeat bum to everyone. This is not entirely unfounded, weed creates tiredness, lazyness, lack of motivation and paranoia to long term smokers, whether they admit it or not.
On top of this is police pressure. I remember smoking with a few of my friends on an old abandoned railway station, 4 policecars turned up with 5 officers, i ran, 2 others ran too in a differents direction, but the other two stayd to be interogated. They had their grinders confiscated but kept thier weed. One of them was so mashed that he passed out while being interogatted, but stil got away with it. The pigs petulant raids like this make a stoners life hard. However, it all adds to the experience of being a British Pothead, it is an honour to live a lfe that most middle class suburban 4 bedroom house and a volvo family men will never see. It is an underworld, unknown to normal people, a structure of dealer to dealt that is a chain based on rules and unsaid codes. Most of all, being a Pothead is fun, whether with your mates or on your own. Smoking something you have crafted and shaped and built is a beautiful thing to do. For more info watch Top Buzzer. Although weed always has its own trump card; unpredictability. You never know what your next draw will say, and that simply adds to the danger and craziness of the stoner lifestyle.

hey feeblewizard Thank you for your post Your stream of consciousness touches on a lot of things
1. Cannabis acts like an accelerant for other drugs. You will not need so much of the other drug for the same effect. Drinking and smoking at the same time always seems to be a gamble. Ethanol is a powerful drug, as is, you do not really need something boosting it's power
2. You do not need to smoke it. It can be ingested, and made into delicious cakes and buns if you have any talent for cooking at all. It can also be vaporised, but you need some more specialised equipment for that.
3. 'Weed creates tiredness, lazyness, lack of motivation and paranoia to long term smokers' - depends on the weed (many strains can do this to you, some strains are much more of a lift) , and any effect is a short term effect - stop doing the weed and they all disappear, unless you are lazy and paranoid as a person anyhoo.
4. It is not easy being a Pothead? If you go out your way to act like a steroetypical one, then probably not. However, of all the smokers I know they are all holding down jobs, and mainly good jobs at that. You would not look twice at them walking down the street. They are buying houses and settling down into family life. Leading ordinary lives, (which can also be hard - getting out of bed at 06:00 to get to work is never easy ).
5. I have never been a fan of the smoke till you pass out persuasion, I am not a fan of the drink till you drop either. I prefer to do other things as well. Some times, I must admit, that is slob out and watch the Discovery Channel, but it also means going out to the cinema, going hillwalking, visiting museums, just going out for a walk. The best is on a snowy, cold, crisp day at the top of a hill, just before sledging down it
6. I will not tell you how to live your life, but I must admit if it HAS to be smoked then I would probably lay off for a couple of weeks. If it is starting to control your life then that is probably not a good thing. Luckily you have chosen just about the least addictive drug in the world, so if you do you will be looking at some interrupted sleep and a bit of a temper for a few days.
If you have any suggestions for the Entry then please just let me know Until later...
