I don't suppose that if Nirvanite ever figures out how to host an online game, and I manage to install a patch correctly anyone would fancy a game of Football Manager 2007 (v7.2) at some point?

Well, that sure was eloquent.

As I now have broadband, I could be interested in such an idea.

And if anyone already knows how to host a game, or figures it out before i do and wants to let me know how, then they would be more than welcome.

How long until the inevitable debate over which league to play in?

I once played Champ Man at an h2g2 meet- we played in the Norweigan league, and B got told off by the barman for plugging Alfredo's laptops into the mains without asking. Alfredo tried the strange tactic of signing Bernard Diomede, and playing a goalkeeper in midfield. And as he was managing Rosenborg he was still the bloody best!

Ah, yes. Good days.

I do have FM2007, but have hardly played it - still a CM01-02 addict.

But I could probably make a not-very-good job of participating in an online game nevertheless.

I sympathise though, I'd been clean for 2 months until last night...

Having now had a successfull ( for him) trial match with Psycorp, I can confirm the the VSC FM League will soon begin.

So Far, Myself, Psycorp, MuBeta, and Egon have registered interest. FerretBsdgr may also be tempted.

I was thinking, to avoid arguaments about Leagues and teams, we would use the EPL, and the Randomly Assign teams feature, which would however rely on peoples honesty.

Any other ideas or interest Welcome.

How about you tell them just how brilliantly your bog standard out of the box 442 works?

how does it work then? do we all have to be constantly online at the same time or do you have set time frames you have to "complete" by as it were?

Was thinking of trying to get everyone online at the same time,for an about 2 hours every night, or a few hours at once at th weekend.

I think everyone has to be online at the same time. Which means organisation could be a bit of a problem.

Turns get moved on by some convoluted "x% of people clicking continue = force continue after y minutes" system. Which is great when you like sorting out a training regime and everyone else just wants to get to tomorrow.

but if everyone sorted their train regimes out in a 7.02 patched game and saved them, they should be able to import them, same as tactics, player shortlists etc

You sure? I couldn't even import my player profile? Ah well, worth a go I suppose.

I think we'd be better off using a mystery league that we know very little about.

Possibly if we get to a second season. I reasoned that using the Premiership may lead to more inter club transfers, increased competition for the same players, and bragging right for giant killings.

i also thought that if i knew exactly who was playing,i could hold a FA style drawing of Players and Teams, rather than use random teams, if everyone agreed.
