Secretly Not Here Any More

"It's a disgrace. I know Gareth's a friend of Stuart Pearce's and they had Manchester United to face. But it's scandalous and I would love to see them lose their next six games and see how they feel in the last couple, under that sort of pressure. I don't think a club like Boro should disrespect Sheffield United. To not have any of those players playing against City, especially with the way they are playing at the moment, leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. He's only a young manager but I hope that one day it happens to him and he sees what effect it can have. They play West Ham next and Alan Curbishley is another mate of his. He'll probably not bother there, either" - Neil "Colin" Warnock

Anyone think that he'd love it, just LOVE IT if they beat them? Or just that his paranoid ranting is the only good thing about Sheff Utd being in the Premiership?

It's an odd one this. At first I just shrugged and thought 'another Warnock-ism' but then I thought how annoyed I'd be if, say, the Imperial Lord Ferg came out with this kind of allegation. Actually, I think he did say something like this at one point - was that what prompted KK's "love it" rant?

I suppose I think of Warnock as the licensed motley fool of the Premiership, but really this is a very serious allegation if he's accusing one manager of showing favouritism to a friend in terms of his team selection.

Ferrettbadger. The Renegade Master

I always kinda like Warnock... he took us up with a win at Wemberlee fer christs sake (even if the football that year was awful). He is entertaining....

But still I would say he has probably gone a bit far here.

I thnk i would have done the same in Southgate's position, an rested 3 of my best players for the FA Cup tie, with premiership safety relatively assured. And with th performances City have ben putting in I wouldnt have seen it as much of a gamble. But it does make me wonderf these comments would hav eocme out if Middlesborough won..........
