like H2G2 Albion. But something more origional

And what, pray, is wrong with 'The Virtual Supporters' Club'?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I like the idea of people being VSC member #1, 2, 7, etc. The page has been known by that name for a long time. Adding another name would just confuse things.

where you showed the squad, But I suppose that Virtual Supporters Club is basically the same. Anyway, sorry, it was just a sugestion !

Thank you! I was going to put the squad names up on the main VSC page, actually. I might do that this weekend. Trouble is that whenever I make any changes to the page, it gets hidden for a while. But if I do it tomorrow, the page should be back by the end of Monday.

We really need to get one more player to get our starting eleven first, know anybody who'd be interested and i'll give them a buzz

Trouble with calling the team Albion woud dinenfranchise some of the non-English squad members even if you did give it a name.

However Ormy why can we not give the team a name. We'd still be the Virtual Supporters Club but we'd have a playing team as well, who could easily have another name such as Galaxy Wanderers.

I'll tell you why, DD and Zarniwoop. Because as surely as night follows day, the next thing would be people imagining imaginary matches for the imaginary team, and the VSC would start turning into another Kingdom of Balwyniti or Pierce's Pirate Ship-type thingy.

And would I not like that, because the fantasy forums on h2g2 are - well, fine if you like that sort of thing, but deeply tedious if, like me, you don't. I'd rather keep the VSC as a reality-based football resource and discussion forum.

Please, if you really want to play Roy of the Intergalactic Rovers, do it somewhere else. I've put a lot of time into building the VSC page. When I get a spare hour or two I'll add the 'squad' names and a few more links that I have in mind - but by and large, I like the page like it is.

Yes I agree with Ormondroyd. I keep a division between the silliness and fun and games I get up to in the Thingite and Questioners threads and those places where I have a more grown up persona.
