Does anyone know how to get the color permanently into the cloth at low temperature? And which different ways of getting interesting patterns are there?

Well, tie-dying and wax masking will produce reasonable patterns...if you like that kind of thing. I'm not sure that dye that works at low temperatures is colour fast though...best to see what the packet says?

They'll be fast, but you can only get pale colours with them. Why can't you use hot water?

Just because we havenĀ“t any pot which is huge enough for a bed sheet...The only other possibility seems to be to use the bathtub and it might be slightly difficult putting that onto the stove.
