How do I change my password!?!

I forgot my password two days after I signed up, and I have tried to change it about two dozen times since then. I hit "Update Details", and on the new page is sitting my fourteen-character, utterly irretrievable password. I KNOW you can change it, because that's what the h2g2 staff folk reccommend you do in such a case. Does anyone know what is going wrong?

Have you tried to log on with that new password? When I changed mine, I found it a bit odd too that after clicking that update-button there was this long row of *:s on the screen though my new password was supposed to be only 8 characters long, but when I logged out and on again, the new password worked anyway... So it might be just that confusing page that appears after updating and makes you believe the password hasn't changed... If that's not the case, then I don't know what's wrong...
