Not much to say here...

...But because that's a bit rude in a PR thread, I ought to add that I think this is a pretty good entry.

I'll agree that this is a pretty good entry - along the lines of the teenage subcultures.
You'll have to forgive me as a decript old 22 year old - I don't remember dorks taking an intrest in magick - but maybe that was just at my school.
(I just like that smilie)

Yeah, the whole magick thing is probably spread relatively evenly among various subcultures, though goths most likely have more of an interest than others. Perhaps occultists should be considered a seperate group altogether, though i'd say most teenagers have read somethign about it at some point (I currently have a major interest in it.)

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho Posted Mar 10, 2004
Oddly enough, Mrs Gosho and I were talking about dorks, geeks, and nerds over a pint last Saturday. When she comes back from San Antonio tomorrow, I'll talk to her again about it and offer some suggestions

I have to say, an entry that distinguishes and differentiates between dorks, geeks and nerds would automatically achieve 'legend' status in my book.

It's OK, Gosho - you can admit to being drunk (despite the fact it's only 8:30 over there). We don't mind.

I'm surprised to see geeks included in with all these other types. Calling someone a geek is not normally an insult, while all the others are. A geek is just someone of probably higher than average intelligence who is fixated on facts and figures and one particular topic. Most of us here on h2g2 are proud to be geeks.
You should avoid mentioning yourself in the entry. This does not mean just replacing "I" with "this researcher". Your sentences mentioning "this researcher" could easily be rewritten so that you are not mentioned. "In a recent interview...".

I wonder if Geek has been reclaimed in much the same way that the gay community has reclaimed Queer?

Only by geeks, I think...
On a practical note, Hussassan, you do know your h2g2 links aren't currently linked to anything?

Well, yes, true
But what I was kind of getting at is that it's not quite accepted by the rest of society just yet - I'd say the average bloke in the street still thinks of it as an insult.

Cyzaki Posted Mar 11, 2004
But if you called the average bloke in the street 'queer', I think he'd take that as an insult too...
