Aha! A response at last!
My self-doubting inner artist always interprets silence as "negative criticism unvoiced because of self-preservation instincts"...

No, not at all...lack of response means "not quite sure how to say this", I'm maybe not as articulate sometimes as I'd like to be about how I feel.
