Take it the Captain's Log Cabin is open, then? Will come over after I've finished cooking dinner.
Wonder how the Tog family are doing. Hope it's good news.

Hi ES
How are you this evening? Sorry about the mix up last night me being paranoid! Perhaps I should explain I have a friend over in the R2 Coffee Shop who I asked to join us, he is Registered Blind and I'm not sure whether he's using zoom text or speech prog. Oh I should also explain my Husband is a Rehab Worker for the Blind. Weird coincidence especially with your choice of name?! Must be fate I guess.
If he does come then would you advise against using smilies?
Thanks for all your help with all the technical bit your an .
Nice to see you daughter here I don't want my Dad following me! He's a wiz on the computer as is my brother I'm the dotty middle aged woman!
Oh and also is there a quick way to clear out the messages you've subscribed to without doing each one by one?

Hi BDG
Fine thanks
You asked
As far as I can find (past email readers) no speech synthesizers read graphics, but some can be programmed to recognise codes for thing like emoticon’s. My speech synthesizers just totally skips them, and pickup from the first word it recognises. But it’s a free one.
When in communication with my friends I tend to us a code like ,smiling, a comma denotes a three second brake
If you can find out something about the system he uses, I most likely can help more.
As for the convocations building up on your PS
Not that I am aware
I ask every one to post in the message centre then I only have one place to look.

Hiya ES
Great minds must think alike I've just asked a friend to put in the message centre. Could you put it back on top again havn't a clue how you did it!
I've put commas in out of habit just the way I was taught..did'nt realise the implications when communicating with the blind thanks for that.
When you say save on the page do you mean in a favourites folder? I was a bit at a loss with note pad's as well. I don't get that much time to learn the finer points.
Thanks again for your help. Must

Hi-ya BDG
<< When you say save on the page do you mean in a favourites folder?>>
The auto refresh page I think you are asking about,
Go to this page http://www.thegster.dsl.pipex.com/RefreshPS/ : )
Follow the instructions their. And save it to you desk to on your PC
And let me know how things go.
You can edit it in note pad…. I am assuming Windows, if you are using A Mac or linux let me know.
.................................................................
Here are some files that you can download and have your very own 'Hootoo automatically updating Personal Space'
Right-click then choose 'save target as' and put them somewhere safe. (If you just click the link then it will give you researcher 0's personal space which is not very exciting)
Once you download the file you will have to edit it. Most people should be able to right click and choose edit, or open notepad and then choose File|Open and select the file (making sure 'All Files' is selected not 'Text Files'). Then change the 6 question marks (?) to your user number. And don’t forget to save!!!!
If the file doesn't automatically open in notepad and you dont know how to use your current web page development program (ie Front page express, or Mozilla Composer) then just open notepad and choose 'File|Open' ....
After all that opening the file will bring up your very own automatically updating personal space, currently the delay is 2 mins (120 secs) but you can change that by editing the file if you want. Its not very complicated, find 120 and replace it with the length of time (in seconds) that you want the delay to be.
The file is available set up for different skins:
Brunel
Classic Goo
Alabaster
Plain
I Hope they prove useful to someone!! And thanks for stopping by.

Hi-ya Mustard Seed
Yep it nice,
Now if you replace this
in line 7
with this
<frame name=" conversations " src="http ://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/MP635735?skip=&show=&s_type=pop&s_upto=&s_target=conversation>
(this line is all in one)
This will bring up just your conversations, and refresh them every 2 minuets.
